MG Walser Bio

MG Walser grew up in Switzerland, before he emigrated to live in London, New York, and Hong Kong, where he worked in advertising, film and television production.

The Inspector Fontana Series takes place in Eastern Switzerland, where his grandparents lived, and where he spent most summers of his childhood. The social revolution of the 60s was still far away in the small alpine towns, but signs of modernity were beginning to intrude, that would change the quiet, well-ordered postwar world forever.

He started out writing for local newspapers, then went on to independent film and television production. He has written and co-written screenplays, adaptations and translations, and has spent several years in film sales and marketing. The novel Landquart is his first foray into fiction, and is the beginning of a series, that follows the main characters through the sixties and early seventies.

MG Walser currently lives in New York.
