In the early ‘60s Inspector Fontana investigates a series of mysterious deaths in the sleepy Swiss railway town of Landquart.
At the height of the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, Inspector Fontana is called to the village of Seewis in the Eastern Swiss Alps, where a distant relative has found the body of a mysterious hiker.
Fontana’s wife has recently moved out to live with her parents, and he is left to look after their teenage daughter. The last thing he needs is a frantic phone call from his estranged brother-in-law, Raeto, who has gotten himself into trouble again and needs Fontana’s help.
As Fontana works to solve what looks like a simple murder case, it becomes clear that something more sinister is afoot, and long-buried secrets start coming to light that lead him deep into the canton’s remote valleys.
