 Inspector Fontana is the fictional protagonist of a crime series set in the Eastern Swiss Alps in the 1960s, as the country leaves its postwar years behind and struggles with the challenges of modernity and social change ahead.

  Inspector Fontana lives and works in Chur, Graubuenden in the 1960s, where he goes through a turbulent time with his job at the Kantonspolizei.

  

  Fontana’s family comes from a small farming village in the Praettigau Valley, but he is in the big city now and does not like to be reminded of his ancestor’s humble roots.
